#118 | Jonathan Zaherek SENDS IT in the Adirondacks during All Seasons

July 6th, 2021

Jonathan Zaherek is back on the show to talk about getting sendy in the Adirondacks. Whether it's backcountry skiing, or trail running (even on the uphills) Jonathan never holds back as he continues his quest to basically be the biggest Adirondack Hiking Nerd of all time. A special thanks to Nick Groves for popping into the conversation for a few minutes to speak about his quest to hike every mountain in the Adirondack Park that has a trail to the summit. #113 | Getting Caught in Your Underwear at a Campsite by a YouTube Fan with ADK Woods Walker

May 11th, 2021

Jay Morrison, aka ADK Woods Walker joins the show this week. Jay's channel is one of my personal favorites, due to his positive attitude, relatability and of course... his love for the Adirondacks! Be sure to listen until the end of the episode, because Jay tells a hilarious story of the time he caught changing at a campsite, and was recognized by the person from his YouTube channel in the process.

#101 | How to Solve the Adirondack’s Overuse Problem with James Appleton

January 5th, 2021

James Appleton, host of The 46 of 46 Podcast comes on for his second Trail Tales episode. We spent most of this episode talking about the 'overuse' issue in the Adirondack High Peaks....although calling it such is a massive simplification. James lives in the Adirondack Park, and thus has some unique and valuable views on the subject. Even if you do not hike in the Adirondacks, I think there is a lot to learn in this episode, especially as public hiking trails have started to see an increase in traffic over the years.

#95 | The Northville Placid Trail is not as bad as I said it was… with Sophia Garber

November 10th, 2020

Sophia Garber joins the podcast to tell the story of her 2020 Northville Placid Trail thru hike in the Adirondacks. She hiked it very shortly after Flossy and I did, and despite the similar time-frame... her hike sounded way more fun! So if you thought my NPT story was kind of a downer, give Sophia's a listen and hopefully you will get a different perspective on the trail! October 13th, 2020

Flossy and I successfully completed the Northville Placid Trail in the Adirondacks. This was my second attempt at thru hiking this trail so I finally got my redemption. However... it wasn't easy. It was the hardest hike that we have attempted since the Appalachian Trail in 2018. Tune in to find out what happened. Go watch the video of our hike: https://youtu.be/ccrxEfSuYXg

#86 | Hiking the Vermont Long Trail as a first Thru Hike

August 18th, 2020

My good friend Kayla joins the show this week to talk all about her FIRST THRU HIKE EVER in which she completed MY FAVORITE TRAIL EVER i.e the Vermont Long Trail! The Long Trail is tough, and hiking it in a group of 4 is even tougher, so I think it's awesome that she was able to crush it! We talk about group hiking, some of her favorite spots on the trail, and at the end of the episode she shares a story of a bear encounter in the Adirondacks.

#70 | ALL ABOUT THE ADIRONDACKS with James Appleton of the 46 of 46 Podcast

March 31st, 2020

It's been too long since I've talked about the Adirondacks on this show, and James Appleton was the perfect guest to do so with. We talk about the Adirondack 46, James's podcast "The 46 of 46 Podcast", and the Lake Placid 9er challenge - a peak bagging challenge that is created and managed by James himself! Even if you're not an Adirondack hiker, this episode should get you fired up to finally hit the trail once the social distancing measures are done.
