#118 | Jonathan Zaherek SENDS IT in the Adirondacks during All Seasons

July 6th, 2021

Jonathan Zaherek is back on the show to talk about getting sendy in the Adirondacks. Whether it's backcountry skiing, or trail running (even on the uphills) Jonathan never holds back as he continues his quest to basically be the biggest Adirondack Hiking Nerd of all time. A special thanks to Nick Groves for popping into the conversation for a few minutes to speak about his quest to hike every mountain in the Adirondack Park that has a trail to the summit. #113 | Getting Caught in Your Underwear at a Campsite by a YouTube Fan with ADK Woods Walker

May 11th, 2021

Jay Morrison, aka ADK Woods Walker joins the show this week. Jay's channel is one of my personal favorites, due to his positive attitude, relatability and of course... his love for the Adirondacks! Be sure to listen until the end of the episode, because Jay tells a hilarious story of the time he caught changing at a campsite, and was recognized by the person from his YouTube channel in the process.

#101 | How to Solve the Adirondack’s Overuse Problem with James Appleton

January 5th, 2021

James Appleton, host of The 46 of 46 Podcast comes on for his second Trail Tales episode. We spent most of this episode talking about the 'overuse' issue in the Adirondack High Peaks....although calling it such is a massive simplification. James lives in the Adirondack Park, and thus has some unique and valuable views on the subject. Even if you do not hike in the Adirondacks, I think there is a lot to learn in this episode, especially as public hiking trails have started to see an increase in traffic over the years.

#66 | Pushing the Limits of Late Start Dates on the Appalachian Trail with Ryan Fox

February 25th, 2020

Ryan Fox thru hiked the Appalachian Trail SOBO starting in August 2018 - which is a very unique time to start! He followed that up by crushing a good portion of the PCT the following year, and is currently planning on competing in the 2020 Lake Placid Ironman Triathlon. This dude does it all! We talk about how his Appalachian Trail start date affected his hike, the similarities and differences between the hiking community and the triathlon community, and at the end he tells a crazy story about camping with some homeless folks on the PCT.

#50 | The Interviewer Gets Interviewed For the Trail Tales 50th Episode Special

October 29th, 2019

Holy....wow. Fifty Episodes! To celebrate, my good friend and frequent guest of the show Baker Bokorney is back, but this time he is the interviewer. Baker thought it would be fun to reverse the roles and take some of the work off my plate this week, so I got to spend an hour answer questions about myself, my hiking history, and Trail Tales itself. I even get to share a never-before-told story at the end of the episode.

Thank you to everyone who has listened to this show for the past 50 episodes. I constantly have people reaching out and showing their support, and I am humbled and grateful for where the show is at right now.

#47 | Sintax77 On the Adirondacks, Hammock Camping, and Much More

October 8th, 2019

Sintax77 On the Adirondacks, Hammock Camping, and Much More

Sintax77 (aka Shawn Crawford) is back for round two this week! Much like our first episode, we jumped all over the place in our conversation, mostly focusing on his latest film 'Military Surplus Camping - B-47 Crash Site - Adirondack Mountains', as well as talk about some of his hikes in the White Mountains and of course... hammock camping! In the ever-growing pool of hiking Youtubers, Sintax77's videos continue to stand out to me due to his creative ideas and drive to push his abilities when it comes to film-making. I always have a blast talking about the White Mountains and Adirondacks, and I hope Sintax77 will come back on soon!

#45 | Thru-Hiking the Northville Placid Trail in the Adirondacks with Jacob Ireland

September 24th, 2019

Thru-Hiking the Northville Placid Trail in the Adirondacks with Jacob Ireland

Jacob Ireland recently completed a thru-hike of the Northville Placid Trail in the Adirondacks, and was kind enough to reflect on his experience with me this week. I also attempted the Northville Placid Trail a few years ago, and through that experience I discovered how tough of a trail the NPT really is. Though Jacob certainly does not regret his experience on the Northville Placid Trail, he expressed his mixed feelings about it on this episode. We talk about why he felt a bit underwhelmed by the trail, and also cover the positive aspects of the Northville Placid Trail (lakes, lakes, and more lakes)! It's always a treat to talk about the Adirondacks.
