Sintax77 On the Adirondacks, Hammock Camping, and Much More
Sintax77 (aka Shawn Crawford) is back for round two this week! Much like our first episode, we jumped all over the place in our conversation, mostly focusing on his latest film 'Military Surplus Camping - B-47 Crash Site - Adirondack Mountains', as well as talk about some of his hikes in the White Mountains and of course... hammock camping! In the ever-growing pool of hiking Youtubers, Sintax77's videos continue to stand out to me due to his creative ideas and drive to push his abilities when it comes to film-making. I always have a blast talking about the White Mountains and Adirondacks, and I hope Sintax77 will come back on soon!

Everybody is trying to step up their Instagram game these days (or at least I am), so I'm stoked I got to talk to Appalachian Trail thru-hiker and photographer Matt Morelli about the process behind his photos. After thru-hikng the AT, Matt realized his potential with camera, and decided to pursue it more seriously. We talk all about how you can step up your photography game while thru-hiking or on the trail -with both a camera or just a smart phone.

Thru-Hiking the Northville Placid Trail in the Adirondacks with Jacob Ireland
Jacob Ireland recently completed a thru-hike of the Northville Placid Trail in the Adirondacks, and was kind enough to reflect on his experience with me this week. I also attempted the Northville Placid Trail a few years ago, and through that experience I discovered how tough of a trail the NPT really is. Though Jacob certainly does not regret his experience on the Northville Placid Trail, he expressed his mixed feelings about it on this episode. We talk about why he felt a bit underwhelmed by the trail, and also cover the positive aspects of the Northville Placid Trail (lakes, lakes, and more lakes)! It's always a treat to talk about the Adirondacks.

Should Mount Tecumseh Be Included in the White Mountain 4000 Footers List? Peak-Bagging the New Hamphsire 4000 Footers with Mac Cerullo
Journalist and peak-bagger Mac Cerullo joins the show to talk about writing for Outside Magazine about Philip Carcia's White Mountain Single Year Grid, and about his own quest to hike the New Hampshire 4000 Footers. We discuss many topics about the Whites, ranging from some of the areas we would like to hike in the WMNF that are not part of the 4000 footers list, some of the overrated New Hampshire 4000 footers, and about the controversy surrounding the fate of Mount Tecumseh and other peaks, since they have been proven to be under 4000 feet. Check out Mac's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/maccerullo/ and Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/mcerullo11

Emory Wanger, who hosts the Byland Podcast, joins the show this week to talk about thru hiking the PCT, backpack-hunting, and of course... podcasting! We jumped all around in this one, and it was almost therapeutic for me to discuss the behind the scenes details of starting and maintaining a podcast within the hiking/backpacking/thru hiking world that we both exist in. Of course, it was also great to hear about thru-hiking the PCT, and everything else Emory had to say! If you like Trail Tales, you will for sure like Byland, so go check it out at https://byland.co/podcast

46 Climbs co-founder Kolby Ziemendorf is back on the show to talk about his recent attempt to break the record for hiking the most High Peaks in the Adirondacks in 24 hours. Unfortunately, the attempt did not work out, and we talk all about what happened. We also cover some of his preparation for taking on such a daunting hiking challenge, the record fund-raising year that 46 Climbs is having, and we even touch on how he will be thru-hiking the Northville-Placid Trail in just a few weeks. Kolby has hiked all 46 of the Adirondack High Peaks, and has intimate knowledge of the Adirondacks. It's always a pleasure to chat with him, and I am sure he will come back on in the future!

#41 | Thru-Hiking the Colorado Trail with Scott Hughes
Tuesday Aug 20, 2019
Tuesday Aug 20, 2019
Scott Hughes recently completed a thru-hike of the Colorado Trail, and joins the show to talk all about it. We cover all the essential information that someone contemplating thru-hiking the Colorado Trail needs to know, including resupply, weather, camping, and much more. Also, you can apparently thru-BIKE this trail as well as thru-hike it. You read that correctly. How sick is that! This was Scott's second episode of Trail Tales, as we did an episode way back in November of 2018 about his thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. I am grateful that he was willing to come back on, and share all about his experience thru-hiking the Colorado Trail!

Frozen from the Youtube Channel Outdoor Adventures joins the show this week to talk about his recent thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. We jump all around in this episode and got to cover many topics pertaining to thru-hiking, vlogging, and life on the trail. Frozen talks about some of the good and bad parts about being an Appalachian Trail vlogger, how thru-hiking was able to bring out a more extroverted side of his personality, and how he proposed to his then-girlfriend on top of Mount Katahdin, soon after completing his hike!
