#50 | The Interviewer Gets Interviewed For the Trail Tales 50th Episode Special
Tuesday Oct 29, 2019
Tuesday Oct 29, 2019
Holy....wow. Fifty Episodes! To celebrate, my good friend and frequent guest of the show Baker Bokorney is back, but this time he is the interviewer. Baker thought it would be fun to reverse the roles and take some of the work off my plate this week, so I got to spend an hour answer questions about myself, my hiking history, and Trail Tales itself. I even get to share a never-before-told story at the end of the episode.
Thank you to everyone who has listened to this show for the past 50 episodes. I constantly have people reaching out and showing their support, and I am humbled and grateful for where the show is at right now.

Sintax77 On the Adirondacks, Hammock Camping, and Much More
Sintax77 (aka Shawn Crawford) is back for round two this week! Much like our first episode, we jumped all over the place in our conversation, mostly focusing on his latest film 'Military Surplus Camping - B-47 Crash Site - Adirondack Mountains', as well as talk about some of his hikes in the White Mountains and of course... hammock camping! In the ever-growing pool of hiking Youtubers, Sintax77's videos continue to stand out to me due to his creative ideas and drive to push his abilities when it comes to film-making. I always have a blast talking about the White Mountains and Adirondacks, and I hope Sintax77 will come back on soon!

Emory Wanger, who hosts the Byland Podcast, joins the show this week to talk about thru hiking the PCT, backpack-hunting, and of course... podcasting! We jumped all around in this one, and it was almost therapeutic for me to discuss the behind the scenes details of starting and maintaining a podcast within the hiking/backpacking/thru hiking world that we both exist in. Of course, it was also great to hear about thru-hiking the PCT, and everything else Emory had to say! If you like Trail Tales, you will for sure like Byland, so go check it out at https://byland.co/podcast

#41 | Thru-Hiking the Colorado Trail with Scott Hughes
Tuesday Aug 20, 2019
Tuesday Aug 20, 2019
Scott Hughes recently completed a thru-hike of the Colorado Trail, and joins the show to talk all about it. We cover all the essential information that someone contemplating thru-hiking the Colorado Trail needs to know, including resupply, weather, camping, and much more. Also, you can apparently thru-BIKE this trail as well as thru-hike it. You read that correctly. How sick is that! This was Scott's second episode of Trail Tales, as we did an episode way back in November of 2018 about his thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. I am grateful that he was willing to come back on, and share all about his experience thru-hiking the Colorado Trail!

Frozen from the Youtube Channel Outdoor Adventures joins the show this week to talk about his recent thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. We jump all around in this episode and got to cover many topics pertaining to thru-hiking, vlogging, and life on the trail. Frozen talks about some of the good and bad parts about being an Appalachian Trail vlogger, how thru-hiking was able to bring out a more extroverted side of his personality, and how he proposed to his then-girlfriend on top of Mount Katahdin, soon after completing his hike!

#39 | All About Thru-Hiking New Hampshire's Cohos Trail with Aaron Ibey
Tuesday Aug 06, 2019
Tuesday Aug 06, 2019
Thru-hiker and photographer Aaron Ibey joins the show again, this time to talk about his hike of New Hampshire's Cohos Trail. This relatively unknown trail runs from the New Hampshire/Canada border, 170 miles south to Crawford Notch in the White Mountains. Aaron shares all the details from his thru-hike, including his resupply strategy, the types of terrain he encountered, and the abundance of wildlife he saw. This trail really seems like a hidden gem, often overshadowed (quite literally) by the famous White Mountains that exist just to it's south.
Keep an eye on Aaron's Instagram to see photos from his hike: https://www.instagram.com/ibeyprofin/

Nick Scaramuzzo is a seasoned Northeast hiker, having peak-bagged in Vermont, the Adirondacks, and the Catskills, just to name a few places. In our chat we discuss the Catskills 3500-footer club and how the "rules" of the hiking list vary slightly from the more popular Adirondack 46 and White Mountain 48. We also talk about his upcoming thru-hike of the John Muir Trail, and some of his preparation for that, including how he navigated the tricky permit system in order to make his hike happen.

Baker Bokorney is back for round 3! Baker is an experienced thru-hiker, having hiked the Appalachian Trail, Florida Trail, and half the Arizona Trail in 2018. We decided to have some fun with this episode, and go over our hiking and backpacking grievances. Towards the end, Baker gets into some grievances specific to Trail Tales (in addition to being the most frequent guest, he is also a listener of the show), and I finally give him a chance to share a trail story! I forgot BOTH times we spoke before. Sorry Baker. Also congrats on the wedding when you read this.
